Web Design Trends We Loved from 2015

To celebrate the start of a new year, we're looking back at some of our favorite web design trends that we hope will stick around:

1. Sprite animation

Dropbox's simple sprite animation banners require no load time, are minimalistic, and feel more authentic and less sales-driven than some of the over-the-top video backgrounds you might see elsewhere.

2. Creative video banners

Last year video banners became more refined and engaging, instead of being just a novelty used to reduce bounce rate.

Lush's underwater videos of their bath bombs dissolving are perfect - it shows exactly their product, quality, and experience all in a few seconds.

3. Bigger Buttons & Cross-platform friendliness

It sounds simple but it's still rare. Having more link region accessible is excellent no matter what device you use. On a tablet or phone, though, it is especially necessary to make a larger clickable region rather than just linking text.

4. SIMPLE, CONVERSION-DRIVEN UX

Some websites have perfected the art of conversions. Amazon tackles purchases and subscription sign-ups so easily it's dangerous for our wallets.
